BCGL Partner Theresa Mongiovi will be a speaker at the Lancaster Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Fall Legal Update on September 16th. She will provide an overview of Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Act and its impact on the workplace. Because of this Act, employers must accommodate lawful marijuana use which impacts employers' current policies and procedures. Employers need to educate themselves on not only the scope of the Act, but other implications regarding CBD oil, testing, hemp, and internal pre-employment procedures. The presentation will also address work restrictions permitted under the Act, anti-discrimination obligations, and recommendations for employers to comply with the Act, including drug and alcohol policies, job descriptions, drug testing and reasonable accommodations.
Theresa's program will include workplace issues with recreational marijuana from other jurisdictions, hemp, and use of CBD oil.
The LSHRM Fall Legal Update will be held at the IU-13 Training and Conference Center on September 16th from 7:30AM-4:30PM. The day will be filled with professional development on current legal issues impacting Employers and HR Professionals. For more information, contact email@example.com.
