BCGL is Dementia Friendly!

At BCGL, we believe caring for our clients means understanding more than their legal needs. It also means recognizing the challenges that individuals and families may face. That is why our firm took steps to become a Dementia Friendly Office, with helpful coaching and guidance from Jeffrey Goss and Kathleen Goss, both Dementia Champions.

Becoming dementia friendly starts with education. Our team learned how dementia can affect communication, memory, decision-making, and daily interactions. More importantly, we learned practical ways to make our office more comfortable and accessible for individuals living with dementia.

For a law firm, these practices are particularly important. Estate planning and elder care often involve sensitive decisions about powers of attorney, healthcare directives, guardianship, long-term care, and financial planning. A dementia-friendly approach helps ensure that clients and their families feel respected and supported throughout the process.

With Jeff’s coaching, our team is learning that becoming dementia friendly isn’t simply about completing training—it’s about creating a culture of patience, dignity, respect, and understanding.

At BCGL, we are proud we took this step toward becoming a dementia-friendly law office and a stronger resource for the families in our community.
